Travelling Skincare on My Sapporo Trip

Another trip another skincare set for traveling. I have talked about traveling skincare when I was in New Zealand in this post Traveling Skincare When I am In New Zealand This time I get to bring more skincare since I stayed longer for about 2 weeks. Sapporo was very cold at that time; the lowest temperature when I am there was 3-degree Celsius. It was Pretty freezing out there.

For the moisturizing product, I bring my Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser and Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask. I use the Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief moisturizer for day and night and added Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask on top of it. I bring my go-to sunscreen Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish.

I started to use Swisse Deep Sea Hydrating Mist Toner after my New Zealand trip. Unlike the glow lab toner, the Swisse Deep Sea Hydrating Mist Toner does not have fragrance. It did not break me out and I quite enjoy this toner, even though it is not as hydrating as Klairs Supple Preparation Toner. I put the toner in a traveling spray bottle. The next Swisse product that is new in my routine is Swisse Argan Anti-Aging Eye Cream. I love the Swisse eye cream packaging, so light and small. I like this eye cream packaging more than the usual eye cream sample sachet I bring along.

For serums, I bought my cult favorite Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, Mario Badescu Vitamin C serum and Melano CC. I already write about the drunk elephant marula oil before. As for melano CC. It is a must-have serum. It is actually a vitamin C serum too, but I use it as PIH spot treatment. It is such a great product that helps diminish my PIH faster. It usually takes months to get rid of acne scar, but with melano CC, the acne scar will lighten in a month. This is my 3rd tube using this product. Melano CC can easily found in Japan drugstore. I do not use it for the entire face, only on PIH.

During the holiday I usually lacking sleep which results in dullness on my skin. So I figure I will bring vitamin C serum to help brighten my complexion during my holiday in Sapporo. I have been using Mario Badescu Vitamin C serum for a long time, and it did boost my skin complexion. I used the vitamin C in the morning for the first 3 days, nothing is wrong. However, on the fourth day, my skin started to feel super dry and peel off.

I was wondering what went wrong this time. I use almost the same skincare that I bring last time to New Zealand. The difference was the toner, the night cream, and the vitamin C serum. Then I realized that the vitamin C serum might be the culprit. I usually have no problem with the vitamin C serum, but I think in cold weather it is not suitable for me and I do not bring an intense night cream to intensify hydration.

Another thing is, I used The Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask at night in combination with the vitamin C serum. I learned my lesson, do not use exfoliate product during the cold holiday season and never forget to bring my rich night cream. I tried to fix it by stop using the vitamin C serum and replace it with Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil in the morning. I replace The Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask with Tosowoong propolis mask and My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Total Effects Black Mask and Black Obsidian Moisturizing Black Mask at night time to help soothe my skin.

My skin still dries throughout my trip, and I tried to find a product that will help with my hydration issue. Then I come across this product. I do not know the brand is, but I read about it somewhere that says this is a hyaluronic acid booster. So you supposed to put one drop of this product to any moisturizer, toner or serum to intensify the hydration level. I begin to add this to my Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Moisturiser after I use toner and marula oil in the morning and also at night. It did help slightly, but my skin still dehydrated. And then, when I come back to Indonesia and mixing this again with my moisturizer after toner and without marula oil, it works well. I feel like the hyaluronic acid drop increases my skin hydration level in the morning. Maybe it depends on the weather too. I continue using this hyaluronic acid drop, too bad I did not purchase more of this product since the bottle is so small. I will finish it so quickly.

One last thing, it is necessary to bring pimple treatment on traveling, because pimple always pops up anytime right? As I said on this post Pimple spot treatments that every time I use a pimple spot treatment, after a while, the product will no longer be effective on my skin, so I keep changing spot treatment. At the moment I am using this Dr. Hsieh 15% Mandelic Acid Anti-Acne Gel. It helps out reduce the pimple size, but if you using it 3 days straight, that area you applied will be dry and flaky.
