Bon Air Rose Illuminator Oil Drop

I have been trying 2 products from Bon Air. Initially, I wanted to get the rose illuminator set (face oil and cream), but after reading some reviews, I also wanted to get the blue smoother set. So I purchase one of each kind, I got the face oil from the rose illuminator set and cream from the blue smoother set.

Packaging :

It is come in 30 ml of product, in an elegant red glass bottle with pipette dropper. The bottle is slightly heavy; the pipette is easy to use.

Texture:

Bon Air Rose Illuminator oil drop is a bi-phase blend of oil and water, you will notice the two separate layers of the product. You must shake the bottle to mix the product before using it. The mixture is yellowish and very liquidy. I use 3 to 4 drops for the whole face and neck. After applying it to your skin, drop the remaining oil into the bottle. That way you will not forget to mix the formula for the next time you use it.

The application:

I put it in the serum slot. Apply after double cleansing – first essence – toner – a bi-phase blend of oil and water  – sheet mask – moisturizer

Shelf Life: Only 6 months

It promotes skin clarity by providing necessary vitamins and antioxidants, while 8 herbal ingredients in the water essence help to soothe the skin. This non-greasy, oil-essence formula is a perfect hydration synergy of oil and water that rejuvenates the skin while improving skin tone and texture.

I like that rosehip oil is in the ingredient list. Rosehip oil is a bit tricky for me. Some products contain rosehip oil works wonderful on my skin, just like the Odacite Ro +Y Rosehip Ylang-Ylang Serum Concentrate. Some products with rosehip oil irritate my skin. The Bon Air Rose Illuminator oil drop is a little bit tacky, be careful not to use too much. The smell of the oil is a bit unpleasant for me. It does not smell fishy like the usual rosehip oil smell, I don’t know, to me the smell is similar to cooking oil. But it will disappear upon application.

I have oily, dehydrated, acne-prone with large pores. For me, this oil is a bit stick if I do not continue it with a sheet mask. Using sheet mask definitely, help to make the face oil absorb into my skin. If I did not use a sheet mask, I probably will only use 2 drops of oil.

Bon Air Rose Illuminator oil drop does hydrate my skin very well, the next day after I using it at night, I will wake up with glowing skin. I usually use it 3 times a week, I notice that if I using it for more than 3 days straight, my skin will have small bumps. I will repurchase if only they have a smaller version of Bon Air Rose Illuminator oil drop, because with 3 days of a week uses there will be a lot of product left in the bottle within 6 months.

I initially intrigue to buy this cream because it contains argan oil, which is one of my favorite ingredients. I love the Drunk Elephant Marula Oil so much, when I saw this cream I was thinking “wow marula oil cream, this will work so well on my skin”. And let’s not forget the Blue Tansy Flower in the ingredient list, so interesting.

The application:

I use it at the last step to seal all the skincare I have used previously.

The claim:

The Blue Smoother Velvet Cream is a concentrated oil blend cream that hydrates and protects the skin. While antioxidant powerhouses Blue Tansy Flower and Marula oils soothe and replenish moisture, Adenosine provides anti-aging benefits by promoting skin elasticity and smoothness. This soft velvety cream is a fast-absorbing daily moisturizer that provides long-lasting nourishment and comfort to dry skin.

My Review:

I wanted to love this cream, sadly this cream is too heavy for my skin. It feels heavier than my Blossom Jeju Pink Camelia Soombi Moisturizer. This cream would more suitable for people with dry skin. Or perhaps oily skin people can use it in the winter season. Since I have oily skin and live in a humid country, the Bon Air Blue Smoother Velvet Cream is too moisturizing. After 2 uses for 2 days, small bumps start to appear on my cheeks. As I mention I got a similar reaction with the Bon Air Rose Illuminator oil drop, but I can still make it work. Not with the Bon Air Blue Smoother Velvet Cream. I end up using it only for my neck and it works just fine.
