My Review:
I have been using Kose essence in UV protect spray SPF 50+ PA++++ to reapply my sunscreen during the day. I enjoy it a lot, but sometimes a sun spray is difficult to use when you are in a closed space like in the car. So I try to find an alternative sunscreen to replace it. I am interested in the sun stick. Since it is small, practical to travel with and it gives good protection to the skin. My first ever sun stick is this Nature Republic California Aloe Fresh Powdery Sun Stick SPF 50+ PA++++, such a long name.
I choose this sun stick after reading rave reviews about it and also because it is suitable for oily skin. When I first put it on, I think this sun stick is pretty easy to wear, glides smoothly on my face. It does give a powdery finish, but on my skin, it can feel too drying if I applied too much. The thing I notice first that this sun stick has a very strong smell and the smell does not go away after application, it lingers on your skin. It did not sting my eye when I apply it around the eye area, including my eyelids. There is no white cast. However, the “powdery” feeling after applying this sunscreen transfer to my hand. So every time I am done applying it on my face, my hand will get the dryness of the powdery feeling. It is a little bit hard to explain, but yeah it is as if the sunscreen transfer to my hand all the time.
If you wearing foundation, the sun stick might mess up your foundation. I enjoy using it for about 5 days before I notice my skin gets little tiny bumps and looks reddish. I am not sure why, but obviously the sun stick is not suitable for my skin. I end up using it only on my neck or the back of my neck.

My Review:
I moved on to Make P:Rem Uv Defense Me Blue-Ray Sun Sticks. It has a smaller amount of product compared to the Nature Republic California Aloe Fresh Powdery Sun Stick. The product is a transparent solid sun stick. There is no strong smell. The application is easier due to its tiny size. I choose this because my skin goes along well with the Make P:Rem UV defense me Blue ray sun gel SPF 50+ PA++++ 75ml. So I think both might have similar ingredients, functions, and effects on my skin.
Just like the Make P:Rem UV sun gel, the Make P:Rem sun stick is moisturizing. This time I tried both ways, using it in the morning as my main sunblock and using it on top of my skin during the day as reapplication sunscreen. Both failed, again. My skin reaction is the same as when I use the Nature Republic sun stick. It is so sad. I think this sunscreen is best used on dry skin, for oily skin people like me it felt too much and within a few hours, my face looks extra shiny.

My Review:
Ok, this is the last sun stick failure for the moment. I tried these sunscreens within one or two month’s time, to make sure which one triggers a certain reaction from my skin. The Innisfree sunscreen is small and cute. It is quite difficult to find and a bit pricier than the other two sun sticks I mentioned before. I bought this after watching a YouTube video. After my previous failure, I try to find out why those sun sticks do not work on my skin. I was thinking it may be because of the ingredient in the sun sticks. So in this YouTube video, the person ranks the best of the best sun stick. and one of the best and safest sun stick for sensitive skin is Innisfree Ato Soothing Sun Stick. I wanted to find a gentle sun stick formula, who knows it will be better for my skin.
However, I still have no luck with the sun stick. Innisfree Ato Soothing Sun Stick also causes redness and a bit of itchy on my skin on the first use. It is also too greasy for my skin. I guess I am having a time out from buying sun stick for now. I am just going to stick with my Kose essence in UV protect spray SPF 50+ PA++++ for daily sunscreen reapplication. At least it did not cause a reaction from my skin.
