I was trying on a new wash-off mask that I will review on other posts. The mask is so good, soothing, and moisturize my skin well on the first try. I was loving it, I thought I finally find a great rose wash off mask that is a dupe of The Body Shop British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask at a much more affordable price. And I was wrong. upon the 4 times I using the wash-off mask, I started to have acne on my chin. It adds up the next day and the next day. Before I know it, I have 4 painful, inflamed, and red acne on my chin.
I was such in the bad mood whenever I saw a mirror and those 4 bumps can be seen from afar. I tried to calm it down using my tea tree sheet mask and tried to repair my skin barrier by moisturizing my skin well. My trusted acne spot treatment Dr 30% Mandelic Acid Anti-Acne Gel was expired, meanwhile, those chin acne grow bigger and even more painful. So, I decide to buy a new acne spot treatment ASAP. I have been reading about the new Indonesia skincare brand that seems reliable name Duvaderm, and they launch a new product line that targeted acne. One of them is Duvaderm Acne Shot.
Within 2 days, the Duvaderm Acne Shot arrive at my place. I tried it immediately on my inflamed acne. I was hoping it will at least soothe my breakout. When I have this breakout, I also minimize my skin routine. I stopped using Acid products like retinol and BHA for a while because I don’t want it to make my acne over dried or getting worst. I am just sticking to the First essence-toner-beta glucan serum-moisturizer. I just tapped lightly on the chin area, I don’t want it to be too moisturize, then on the last step I use only 1 drop of Duvaderm Acne Shot on the acnes, it is enough to cover my chin area. I only use it at night time.
The other thing also, since I have to wear masks during the day (I write this during COVID 19 pandemic), I put cosrx acne patch on the acnes to prevent it from the humidity of wearing masks. Preventing them from friction to the dirty masks by the end of the day. The other thing also, I avoid oily food and dairy during this chin breakout to make my skin clear up faster.
The Duvaderm Acne Shot helps a lot in reducing my acne inflammation. The next day after I apply it to my acne, the acne is less painful and the pustules is showing up as you can see in the picture. By the second and third days, it is not as inflamed and red as before. I am very happy with the result of the Duvaderm Acne Shot. Now the acne is flattened up after 1 week of using. The PIH still remain, and I will get rid of it using other products. I am very surprised that the Indonesian local brand has this kind of great quality. I am interested to try their other products.
The only downside of the product is the price, it is quite pricey to pay Rp 450.000 for 15 ml of product. The good news is, you can try their 5 ml travel size first to see whether it works well on your skin, just like I did. I am in love with the result. It works quite fast and effective. Additionally, it did not over dry my skin as that tends to happen with other acne spot treatment. I think the price is worth the benefit of this product.
