The last step in the morning routine
My review:
I was initially looking for a slightly moisturizing sunscreen to use when I have PRP treatment. If you ever read my post about PRP treatment, perhaps you would already know that after the treatment my face will look very red and a bit swollen. For about 3 days I can only use a gel prescribed by the doctor and sunscreen to protect my face. And I need a sunscreen that can act both as a moisturizer and sun protection. Since I am not allowed to use moisturizer yet. Additionally, the sunscreen must not compromise my “wounded skin” situation. Previously I was using make pre:m UV defense me Blue sun gel SPF 50+ PA++++.
I am looking for another sunscreen that serves the same benefit as make pre:m UV defense me Blue sun gel SPF 50+ PA++++. Therefore, I am trying out L’Oreal UV Defender Moisture & Fresh. It is geared towards dry skin, I thought it might be a good substitute for make pre:m UV defense me Blue sun gel. I do my usual morning routine with toner, serum, and moisturizer before applying L’Oreal UV Defender Moisture & Fresh on the last step. I use the usual amount of sunscreen I apply every day, which is 2 fingers for the face and neck. The first impression of this sunscreen is, wow it is moisturizing. My skin looks glowing. There is minimal white cast from the sunscreen. Another good thing is it has sufficient sun protection with SPF 50+ and PA ++++. However, it is too moisturizing for my oily skin. And it gets oilier as time goes. After about 2 hours of using the L’Oreal UV Defender Moisture & Fresh, I feel my eye sting and I realize that it is due to the L’Oreal UV Defender Moisture & Fresh. I then remove it with an oil cleanser and have to redo my moisturizer and add my usual sunscreen. For oily skin, I think it is a bit too much. I don’t think it can be used to reapply during the day either, as it will add an even heavier feeling too oily skin types. Despite using it for only two hours, there are 2 small acne pop out on my face the next day. I guess it is not suitable for my skin. It could be good for people with dry skin.
