My review:
Jakarta is just extra hot and humid this past few weeks. My chin acne that looks better before, start to flare up again. Story of my life, the on-going chin acne, and the skincare journey to get rid of those chin acne. Plus, the daily wear of a face mask makes my chin acne harder to get rid of. Even if one acne has gone, the PIH still remains, and before you know it another acne shows up. So yeah, I constantly on a journey to find a skincare product that helps to make my chin acne better.

I was approaching that time of the month, when my hormones go crazy cause my chin to breakout. I was looking for a quick fix. I have been checking out Babor skincare ampoules for a while, and keep delaying purchase because of the expensive price. From what I see, Babor skincare is prominent for its 7 days ampoule that has a variety of benefits from skin clarifying, hydration, firming, glowing skin to antiaging. The price range of Babor products available in Indonesia is from Rp 500.000 to Rp 2.000.000. Yup minimal Rp 500.000 worth of product for 7 days of use.
It is pretty expensive. But (here comes the justification) since my face is not in a good condition, when I wrote this post my skin is super oily and my chin area started to breakout (again). I am pretty desperate for a quick fix. I decided to purchase a Babor ampoule that aims for acne, the active purifier ampoule. Funny story, I do intent to buy the active purifier ampoule, but then I order the wrong one. Since both product cover is red, I mistakenly purchase the Babor matte finish ampoule instead.
Oh well, it’s a pricey ampoule, even if I had bought the wrong one, I will still use it regardless. LOL. Anyway, the Babor matte finish ampoule gives me a great result, so I am not going to complain. An ampoule is a highly concentrated serum consist of active ingredients that you’re meant to use for a short amount of time as a booster or when you’re having a skin crisis of some sort. Basically, it’s a quick fix that I am looking for.
The Babor matte finish ampoule is largely aimed for regulating the oil production, reduce the appearance of pores and giving an overall matte finish to the skin. In a sense it will benefit my current super oily skin that tends to clog my pores; however, it does not specifically promise to help with acne.
You might want to be careful when opening the glass vial, don’t press too hard or you might have a tiny glass shard in your ampoule. Always use the vial opener that comes with the product, not your bare hand, and shake it before you open it. 1 vial is for 1-time use only within 24 hours. Each vial contains 2 ml of the ampoule and it is a generous amount that is enough for face, neck, and décolletage. Sometimes there is still product left after I apply it all over my face, neck, and décolletage. I just apply it again for the second time. Remember you must use it at once, do not spare it for tomorrow because it will not be effective anymore.
The texture is watery and very light on the skin. The ampoule has white milky color, it is quick to absorb on the skin. I use it on dry skin after double cleansing so it will absorb nicely then continue with toner and cream. I use it at night time only and for 7 days straight. When I use the ampoule I will stop using other serum and simplify my skincare routine. I just do double cleansing-babor ampoule-toner, cream, and eye cream.
The second day I use the ampoule, I notice that during the day my skin is not as shiny as usual. It is also appeared to look even tone. There is no blotchy and redness that often happen on my cheeks. My large pores are blurred out. My skin does not feel dry even though I did not put more layers on my night skincare routine as I usually do. The active acne on my skin seems to calm down a little bit. My skin looks healthy and semi-matte. The matte finish ampoule doesn’t get rid of my chin acne, but I think because it helps to decrease oil production, it prevents potential blemish on my skin. The claim of the Babor matte finish ampoule stated on their website is 100% true. Overall, the Babor matte finish ampoule make a noticeable effect on my face. I can’t help but wonder what if I purchase the Babor active purifier ampoule perhaps my chin acne will have been gone. Is it worth the money? YES. If you have the money and you really need a quick fix for your current skincare problem, I think to splurge on the Babor ampoules worth every penny. It is Expensive, yet it actually delivers the result you are expecting.
